We're in the midst of a heat wave here in Massachusetts, and here we get both heat and humidity.  We took a brief walk today, just long enough for me to grab a shot of "El Dorado" and come back home.  I'm not usually an air conditioning person, but when it gets into the 90s I am in favor of it.

They've really cleaned up "El Dorado."  There's only one piece of very old, dried poop in this shot.  Taken May 31, 2013

May 30, 2013

It is officially warm enough out that I can find dog poops by the smell.  Not always; sometimes I smell one and can't find it, but I found one today from the smell that I wouldn't have recognized as dog poop without DNA testing it.  If it weren't for the smell.  And someone must've either slipped and fallen in it or done something to mash it all into the grass.

The poop in the foreground is too old to have been left by the dog in the background today, but letting your dog roam like that is one of the best ways to leave a turd out for anyone to find.  Taken May 30, 2013

This is the poop I found by smell.  It looks like something horrible happened as far as someone falling in it and mashing it into the grass.   Taken May 30, 2013

This unused poop bag was not far away from the mashed in poop above.  Did someone intend to pick up the poop, but fell in it instead?  We will never know.   Taken May 30, 2013

Two rather uninteresting turds.   Taken May 30, 2013

This looks like two separate poops.   Taken May 30, 2013

Two little logs that may have been part of the previous poop.   Taken May 30, 2013

There are several little turds here, but they are camouflaged by the grass.   Taken May 30, 2013

A few interesting things happened today.  The local Starbucks had poop every 5 feet or so on its sidewalk, I saw a poop that someone obviously slid in, and there was a log outside the doo-doo house for the first time in a little while.  Exciting day!

A previously photographed poop.  Taken May 29, 2013

Some more turds outside Starbucks.  There was a poop every 5 feet or so.  Taken May 29, 2013

More outside Starbucks.  Someone had stepped in one toward the back.  Taken May 29, 2013

You can see here that someone clearly slipped in that doo-doo.  Taken May 29, 2013

There are two here, but the one in the grass (by the telephone pole) is hard to see.  Taken May 29, 2013

This one is right next to a house that is part of my daily route and owns a dog, but I've never seen a poop there.  I think they clean up very well; this is probably from another dog.  Taken May 29, 2013

Outside the doo-doo house.  Taken May 29, 2013

There were lots of flies on this one, but of course they all scattered when I got close.  Taken May 29, 2013

Pick Up After Your Dog: GloZell Music Video

Here's a music video from GloZell Green (@GloZell) entitled "Pick Up After Your Dog."  I think she has a few videos on a variety of topics, but this one is right up our alley.  I wonder how they made the fake doo-doo.

May 28, 2013

Today we went on a completely new route and saw a deer near some old granite quarries.  There wasn't much dog poop to be seen, but it was really cool to see the deer.  We were on a hiking trail near a luxury housing development that went in near some quarries and just happened upon a deer in the middle of the trail.  We got pretty close to it, and after a second of each of us realizing what was going on it bounded away into the woods.

I suspect something happened here with dog poop, like someone cleaned it up after stepping in it once.  Taken May 28, 2013

The deer first ran away then stopped to take a look at us before leaving for good.  Taken May 28, 2013

Today I had the "big camera," the Canon DSLR, so today's pictures are the highest of quality.  We had a nice Memorial Day picnic in the park and let our son roam around with only two rules: 1. that he wear a hat and 2. that he not get too close to the road.  I was glad I was right next to him when he happened upon a giant dog turd as he toddled around.  The last two pictures are of that very turd; of course I had to go back and take its picture.

This one has some red streaks in it.  Taken May 27, 2013

Smashed into the sidewalk.  We disturbed several flies that were feasting on this one as we approached.  Taken May 27, 2013

I think this is all that remains of the "S" shaped poops from previous posts.  Taken May 27, 2013

The turd in the park that my son almost stepped in.  Taken May 27, 2013

Sammi Sweetheart Cleans Up Dog Poop

We are fans of MTV's Jersey Shore, so you can imagine our excitement when we found this gem of a video featuring Sammie Sweetheart cleaning up dog poop!  Even big stars clean up after their pets.  Perhaps Sammie and Ronnie would like to get involved in the Pictures of Dog Doo-Doo cause and become celebrity spokespeople.  Camera work by Ronnie.

May 25, 2013: Vine contribution

Here's a post from Keegan Rogers on Vine that I found through twitter.  I tried to contact Keegan Rogers to find out what is going on because this must be staged, but I don't know what the story is supposed to be.  For now you'll just have to make up your own story.

Some of today's are actually yesterdays that I took by my work, after my first post.  There is an abundance of goose poop near my place of employment because of the Charles River, but I think I only got dog poop.  One I witnessed from afar and the woman cleaned it up, but when I double checked I found that she missed one little log.

By the Charles River.  Taken May 23, 2013

Also by the Charles.  Taken May 23, 2013

The woman bagged most of the poop, but missed this log somehow.  Taken May 23, 2013

Today was another day that began with some concern as to whether I would find any poop, but everything turned out fine in the end.

This one was harder to see in person, but in the picture it is quite clear.  Taken May 23, 2013

A repeat of one in front of the paint store, but it looks so much like the letter "S" I had to get another picture.  Taken May 23, 2013

This one is right in front of my building, right next to the American flags they put out.  There are two little turds here and they're hard to see, but I wanted to get the flag in the shot.  Taken May 23, 2013

Also right in front of my building; there's a little poop in the foreground.  Taken May 23, 2013

May 22, 2013

Today was my first trip back to the graveyard since finding more than 26 poops there, but today I only found one or two.  I was probably lucky last time and close enough to the snow melting that they hadn't cleaned up yet.
This is at El Dorado, which seems to have been picked up somewhat since I last checked in there.  It's still disgraceful, but I only see around 10 poops in the yard instead of 30 or 40.  Taken May 22, 2013

Taken May 22, 2013

This one was right outside the cemetery and I almost rolled over it.  Taken May 22, 2013

I can't believe someone would allow their dog to poop on the curb in front of a grave and not clean it up.  Taken May 22, 2013

The turd to the right has only turned halfway into white poop.  I have no idea why, but someday I'm going to research what makes white dog poop.  Taken May 22, 2013

May 21, 2013

Today's another day where I felt some anxiety, as I didn't find any poop on the first half of our walk.  On the way home I did find several, and was reminded of a dog that used to bark menacingly at passers by from right next to the sidewalk.  The yard is also elevated a bit so the dog is right at eye level with you when it comes at you, but gladly I haven't seen it out in a long time.  We also suspect that the owner throws cigarette butts in the street right there, because there are too many to count concentrated right outside the back door.

These are tough to see because they're mixed in with the weeds, but they're in about the same location as some poops that looked like the letter "X."  Taken May 21, 2013

The dog that lives in this house used to be tied at the back door with a lead that was just long enough so the dog could get right next to the sidewalk and bark and people walking by.  Not a friendly sort of bark either.  I haven't seen the dog in months; I bet someone complained.  Taken May 21, 2013

This is a weird little ball one similar to the ones above.  Taken May 21, 2013

May 20, 2013

It's starting to get consistently warm here in Massachusetts, and this means the dog poo is beginning to smell.  It makes it easier to locate, but significantly grosser.

I've photographed this turd before, but now that it's warm out you can smell it as you approach.  Taken May 20, 2013

Today's doo-doos are actually yesterday's doo-doos.  We took a couple of walks yesterday, and I found some more poop on our second walk.  Check them out, these are definitely from a dog:
