This is the German version of the Doggie Doo game.  It's worthwhile to see it again in German, and the narrator has a funny voice.

Today we took our walk in an old area of town where they've converted the mills into condominiums.  Because of the river there are a lot of geese around, and many of my pictures today are actually of goose poop.  There are some that may be dog doo-doo, but it's hard to say for certain.

We could only take a very short walk today, so I wasn't very optimistic, but I found one right away outside our building.  Once I find the first poop the rest of the walk is much more relaxing.

I must admit, since starting this project I'm beginning to feel some anxiety when I'm out walking with my son.  If I don't see any doo-doo on the first half of our walk I start to get nervous that I won't find any at all.   I try to vary my route from day to day so as not to shoot the same poop over and over, but if I haven't found a new turd I am sometimes tempted to go back to an old one.  Today I happened upon a couple before having to take such drastic steps.   

This one is hard to see, but it's a poop that's halfway under a bush that I photographed a long time ago for the first time.  It seems like a long time for the same poop to be there, but it would be so hard to back a dog up in here that it's can't be happening all that often.  Taken May 16, 2013

May 16, 2013: local contribution

A submission from a friend.  This is a sign from "The Beach" campground in North Conway, New Hampshire.  This police dog, supposedly named "Poop A Trooper," says "Pick Up Da Poop!"  So they expect us to believe that this dog made it to the rank of officer saying "da" instead of "the?"  I find that highly unlikely.

Today I found three poops in front of a local paint store that I walk by fairly regularly, and almost stepped in one!  One of the cardinal rules of photographing dog doo-doo is to not step in it.  Certainly not on purpose, and stepping in it by mistake is the mark of an amateur.  The turd that first caught my attention was about halfway in the mulch area, and I almost stepped on one right next to the sidewalk trying to get a closer shot.  It just goes to show that even I still have a lot to learn about taking pictures of dog doo-doo.

Doo-doo Bin in Locarno, Switzerland

Here is a doo-doo bin I found while on vacation at Lago Maggiore on the Swiss-Italian border.  There's a beautiful botanical garden on an island in the lake, and lots of fun activities with boats and swimming and picturesque scenery, I recommend it.

Dankeschön für saubere Wiesen!

Here's a picture I took while on vacation in a beautiful mountain town in Switzerland.  There were cows and chickens and goats and other livestock in the area, and this sign was near one of the meadows.  I like the shock on the cow's face.

Stevenage, UK cracks down on "dog fouling"

Here a great news clip from a town in the UK cracking down on irresponsible dog owners after more than 200 complaints of "dog fouling" in the last 6 months.  The town will hand out 20,000 dog waste bags for owners to clean up after their dogs.

Today is Mother's Day, and unfortunately I didn't see any dog doo-doo on our walk.  Instead I found this comic, and when I think about what a high-quality, artistic film Jerry Maguire was that will undoubtedly stand the test of time and delight audiences for years to come, I can't help but wonder if it could be remade to utilize this line in the heart-warming climax.

For several days there hasn't been anything outside the doo-doo house, and I thought maybe they started cleaning up after their dog.  They must clean up sometimes, since the yard isn't as bad as El Dorado, but I don't understand why they wouldn't clean up the turd right away.
